Acai is a berry from the Amazon. It has been considered the healthiest berry in the world due to the great concentration of antioxidants, healthy omega fats and fibers.

Acai is loaded with antioxidants (considerably more than pomegranate, blueberries and grapes). Antioxidants are molecules that may protect cells from the damage caused by unstable molecules known as free radicals. Free radical damage may lead to cancer. Antioxidants interact with and stabilize free radicals and may prevent some of the damage free radicals otherwise might cause. The acai berry is about 97-98% seed, and only 2-3% "meat" (as the Brazilian locals call it). 24 hours after harvested, the Acai berry already lost most of its nutritional value.

Acai is loaded with antioxidants, about 20 times more than red wine, which helps fight aging. Acai also carries lots of fibers, healthy monounsaturated fats, iron and amino acids.

Acai roots was developed by three local Brazilians who were born and raised in Rio de Janeiro during the Acai boom (80's-90's). When they were exposed to the Acai available in the US (2000-2001), they thought it wasn't close to what they were used to back home. That is when Acai Roots started to be formed.
