Acai berry scam? How to prevent…

At this point with so many acai berry scams going on online, you probably have at least heard about it. It made big on the news, web, everywhere, hurting real companies like us. But what is the acai berry scam, and how can you prevent from being caught on this scam?

Millions of consumers are on a constant battle to loose weight and be healthier. With such a big demand for magic pills, and no effort, many online ‘scammers’ took advantage of naive consumers looking for those answers. How did they do it?

First they make magic promises such as “loose 30 lbs in 2 weeks, by just taking these pills”, which are typically a combination of acai pills and colon cleanse. Then they make a very hard to pass offer such as acai free trial, 30 days free trial, etc.

What is the catch?

The catch to get your credit card is the ‘Free Trial’, “just pay for shipping and handling, it is only 3.99 or 4.99″. The problem is once you give your credit card to one of these companies, good luck trying to stop their auto-shipping. They disappear from the face of the Earth when is time to stop shipments!

We at Acai Roots received hundreds of calls (if not thousands) from desperate consumers begging for us to stop their shipments. Unfortunately all we could do is explain them they were caught on a scam, and our company had nothing to do with that.
