Acai Pulp

Acai Pulp is one of the best ways to consume acai, because it retains most of the antioxidants and nutrients of the berry without changing the taste. After harvested the acai berry must be processed into frozen pulp within 24 hours or less, otherwise it can spoil and loose its nutrients.

The acai pulp is certainly one of the most common ways the fruit is consumed in Brasil for the same reason - distance. One of the biggest consuming centers in Brazil is Rio de Janeiro, which is thousands of miles from the Northern states such as Para, Amazonas, Amapa, etc where the palmtree grows. In Rio you can buy acai smoothies ("vitamina de acai" ou "suco de acai") and bowls ("acai na tijela") all over the city.
