Yes, We got Roots!

Acai Roots is a San Diego based company founded in 2005 by three local Brazilians from Rio de Janeiro.

The company started with the idea of bringing the authentic and healthy Rio-style acai, but more than that, the lifestyle. Hence "Not just a berry, a lifestyle!"

Being raised in Rio during the acai boom in the late 80's and early 90's and not being an acai "addict" was almost impossible for these three "cariocas" (people who are born in Rio). Acai in Rio is like wine in France. In every little corner of the city you can find a smoothie shop ("casa de sucos") selling some tasteful acai.

With a very high standard for acai, they were a little disappointed when first tried acai in the US and decided to bring their own, creating Acai Roots.
