Seeing so many products out there claiming acai berry on their front panels, but delivering more grape, apple, lime, and prune juice, etc than acai on their ingredient list always challenged us at Acai Roots. Growing up with the best acai in Brasil set our standards very high on the scale to put up with these low end products. With that in mind we developed a line of pure acai products (in addition to the blends) in the supplements, frozen pulp and juices.

Why pure?

The question should be: “why NOT pure?”. The answer to that question is mainly economic. Why do other brands add all these fillers to their products? Is it to improve taste or nutritional value? We don’t think so.

Our pure acai frozen pulp packs are the freshest and darkest purple in the market. Our fruit is processed into frozen pulp within 6 hours in average because of our strategic proximity to the “cream of the crop” region of acai in Para.

pure acai juice (organic)

Our pure acai berry juice is the only in the market that doesn’t add other fruit juices such as apple, lime, grape or even prune juice. We use organic cane sugar to lightly sweeten it (only 20g per 8z ~ half of orange juice’s typicaly content). Many people don’t understand why we sweeten it, but since the berry has no sugar on its profile, and we wanted to offer a ready to drink, we thought it was much better to sweeten it with organic cane sugar than diluting it with other fruit juices.

Our pure acai powder is the freshest organic and darkest purple you can find anywhere. Why? Let’s start with the fruit. Our fruit is the freshest used in the market place because from the time they are harvested to the time they are processed into pure frozen acai pulp typically takes less than 6 hours. After the flash pasteurization, and freezing process the pulp is taken to our freeze drying facility, where the pulp is dried using very low temperatures. This process, not only retains most of the nutritional value of the berry, but also doesn’t require the addition of other carriers.
